Yes — that is Continuous Scan mode. Barcodes are captured automatically as they enter the camera view, with an optional setting that ignores the same code scanned twice in a row, and a touch-and-hold pause for busy environments.

DataScan reads 13 barcode types: QR Code, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, PDF417, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, Aztec and Data Matrix. You can switch off the types you do not need, so the camera ignores other codes.

Your scans stay on your device until you export or send them. We do not store your scan data on our servers. The app sends anonymised usage statistics and crash reports to our own analytics server. When you tap Weather, the weather service receives your location (Apple Weather on iPhone and iPad).
